The Unveiling of the Thomas Mundy Peterson Plaque

Last Friday, a new plaque commemorating Thomas Mundy Peterson, who was the first African American to vote under the 15th Amendment was unveiled.  The plaque will be installed in the City Hall Chambers. The unveiling took place at St. Peter's and was followed by the laying of a wreath on his grave.

We had a packed house for the unveiling even at 2 pm on a Friday afternoon. The seats in front were filled as well but a picture was being taken and many people up when this picture was taken.
